I brought my truck to Ford and they performed the recall swap, not sure what i had before the swap. But I have since bought the black one from Clay, the new gray one that Ford gave me is now in the glove box for spare. I did notice a slight increase in mpg with the black one. Not much, but noticeable.

Thumbs down

I "googled/ebayed" the p/n Al posted up, with the black CPS, contacted the company (dieselogic), and that p/n now is the light grey CPS...

I have been running the F4TZ073TZ-C (International # 1876736C91) Dark Grey CPS for almost three years now. It seems to work well. I have no power mods, and tow an equipment trailer now and then. I have a service body on my 2001 F250, and run around at just over 8,000 pound GVW most of the time.

This is the unit that Robin posted about at the beginning of the thread. I noticed no difference in MPG when I installed it. I pulled out the black one that was running perfectly, and keep it as a spare. I haven't felt it was worth swapping back.

Ford keeps sending us letters that we haven't done the recall on ours - I just toss the letters. I'm going to see if the dealer has the newer p/n when they open this morning. Curious about the price as well.
That's why I spent the $25 and put a gray one in when I went in for the cruise control recall. I made it clear to the service guy that I didn't want them doing the CPS recall, but his "yeah....ok" answer didn't give me a good feeling. Once it was done, I popped the black one back in and kept the gray for a spare.

I replaced the CPS a day after my first post on FTE "Cam Position Sensor CPS?" That was in Nov 2007 before the recall. I also did the Cruise Control Switch (Brake Pressure Switch) and switch harness replacement on my own dime (under 25 bucks wholesale). To stop the recall notifications I had the dealer inspect both and they entered it in the system and that stopped the notifications from coming. Now when using my VIN for recall search (LINK) it comes back "Currently, there are no listed recalls for your vehicle".

Guy on ebay, selling the "dark grey" for 28 buks shipped. He also says that those colored ones are for the OBS, where the "light grey" is for our trucks. Will/does the "OBS" fit our trucks?
