Black CPS!! NOT!!!
I wanted a spare CPS and have heard that the black ones are the best. I searched the internet using the F7TZ12K073A part number.
FinditParts listone for $120 plus shipping. I ordered it and paid the FedEx ground shipping cost of $40
I recieved the grey CPS F7TZ12K073B part almost 10 days later.
I called to complain and was told the grey CPS was a replacement for the black CPs @ $32 for the grey CPS
they said they would refund my money (not the shipping cost) if I would send the part back.
I decided to keep the grey CPS instead of paying more money to ship it back.
So I have a grey CPS that I ended up paying $72 for.
Are any of the black CPS's avalable any where?

The black CPS's are all gone! Clay used to have some and I think his supply is gone now. Looks like you have to live with the grey one.
Too bad they put the screws to you for that one, sounds like a bait and switch scam to me!!!

When I was running the DU-87 the CCT gave no CYL 8 failures or intermittent cylinder 3 failures like the gray one. IMO if you can't find a black one the DU-87 is the best alternative.

I am sorry you got screwed so bad, this is also why you won't normally find it to be a place where reputable shops sell, IMO.

If the black ones were easy to get Clay would have a chit pile of them.
I don't think they are being made anymore.

thx...gonna hit up the intl dealer here, see if they got any. from what i've been reading, i got the grey for spare, but dont want it for the daily sensor. I haveth black now, but with them being 'extinct", i wanna find a few more.

I bought several from our Navistar dealer about 4 months ago - luckily they service quite a few buses and had a bunch in stock. No troubles with them yet. Replaced two failed black ones and put two on the shelf

I got lucky and got the black ones. If you buy the same pn now you get grey ones. (I re-ordered from them a few weeks ago & got grey ones)
Looks like black ones are all gone unless someone finds some sitting on a shelf somewhere.
Not sure what we'll do when the last black one we have is gone - guess we'll be forced to run the grey ones and live with it.
