You have to re-read your post, to then, understand it. The "DU-87" looks like, when reading it the first time, is the "black" cps, not knowing, its actually the "dark-grey" cps, thats available in the market.

I did but nobody I know of has posted the results of how they perform yet. Be nice if they we're better than the grey ones but let's not get our hopes up yet. For now I'm still in the "black is best" camp.

That'd mean its like the latest one from Navistar that I just got when I reordered - its dark grey. I ordered it because we are about to use our last black one on a F350 that's been shutting off while driving.

I too, just called Intl, and gave him the DU-87 #. He said, its not in the system, so gave him my yr/mk/mdl, and he came back with it being a grey cps..

Missed it earlier - the DU-87 has the same PN as the grey one EXCEPT the rev is different - its 'C' vs 'B' on the grey one. Looks like maybe Ford changed something - maybe they went back to Navistar?

The grey one was sourced by ford directly from what I was told vs the previous ones which were sourced from Navistar or directly from their approved vendor.

Some folks are reporting reduced fuel mileage and other cyl/inj related issues with the grey ones.

As you can see in the pic I posted the DU-87 is not grey.

If you look closely at the pic the grey one is F 7 TZ ad the DU-87 is F 4 TZ

What a pretty picture, I have brand spankin' new ones in the glove box of both trucks. Sometimes I get them out just to touch them, it's kinda like having a couple gold nuggets.

I paid around $120 bucks each for two black CPS way back in the day, years before the recall got started.

Yep. I have a few stashed, but I bought them back when they were the price of gold, LOL!

If I woulda waited a couple years, I coulda had a few for a lot cheaper!

I took my truck to the dealer and they changed mine out without asking, I was p----s. I broke down in vegas and paid $300.oo for that black one and couldn't get it back. I still have the old one, my problem ended up being the fuel pump. Chet

They changed it as part of the recall - why none of my trucks w/ the black CPS go anywhere near a dealer they will check the color of the CPS and change it if its not grey. Local dealer has swapped a bunch whether the truck had issues or not - due to the recall. Wish I could "raid" the trash can in the service dept! Ford keeps sending us letters that we haven't done the recall on ours - I just toss the letters. I'm going to see if the dealer has the newer p/n when they open this morning. Curious about the price as well.
