limited cladding capturing road gunk!

i was wiring in some backup lights and to my horror i see a buncha sandy looking dirt and water up behind the stock limited EX cladding on the rear quarter panel!!!! anyone else have this? i can see how this could easily rust away the body behind the cladding if you live in a salted road area!

I will try to get pictures of it tomarrow. i dont see any rust but im sure there has to be at least a little, i wanna get pics before i clean it out tho.

also anyone know how to remove the tank skidplate and if you can take it out and the tank will still be supported? i got some rocks in mine.

Precisely why I took my clad off. A muddy sandy mess behind the plastic all winter long.

Be sure to scrub the truck nutz clean while you're under there.

That`s why I take my hose and rinse out everywhere it looks like something may catch dirt and rot! everytime I wash any car. be sure to keep an eye on the doors at the bottom behind the little rubber flap. they will rust out there too!

what about taking that door flap off and leaving it off? do you think that would be better or worse?

No that will not make a difference. the problem is the way the door is designed. the owner an a few guys at work have Silverados and Yukon`s/Suburbans and they all rust atthe bottom of the doors too.

Your cladding or your front door lower rubber seal?
