Shorter Pitman Arm

I bought a red-head steering box and a new pitman arm, went to install Monday night and the new pitman arm is 1" shorter than the stock one. The stock one actually looked to be in perfect condition so I was going to just reuse it and return the moog one but I cant get the original one off. Is 1" shorter going to make a noticeable difference in my steering? Will my already bad turning radius get noticeably worse?
