Need help with pitman arm!!!
Hi gents, well i've been having trouble finding the right drop pitman arm for my truck. I bought the truck a while back and like three months ago the pitman arm went out. My truck has a 12" lift and the pitman arm on it right now is about 8" long from bend to bend. I took it to a shop that deals with lifted trucks and thye've had it for over two months and they can't seem to find the right pitman arm. Every time they get one it seem to be shorter in length so its not the right one. Can anyone guide me in the right direction please!! Oh btw, my truck is an early 1999 f350 v10 if that helps at all. thanks!!
i know this may not be what u wanan hear, but with that much lift, i hope ur running a crossover steering setup..
the stock steering will have massive bumpsteer at that height, and its prolly why ur pitman arm wore out...
a crossover setup aint cheap but it will return ur steering to normal/acceptable angles, and the steering parts will last much longer...
ORU Crossover Steering Conversion Kit for 8" - 13" of Suspension Lift Early 1999 Ford F250/F350 with a Dana 50/60 Axle - Crossover steering Dana 60 and 50 - Off Road Unlimited
heres a example... do a google search for competing products aswell.. this is just one option...
