i just remembered that my buddy had a similar problem with his chevy. the caulk/sealer on the body panel seams deteriorated and started letting in water. the seam was in the wheel well on the drivers side and the floor was soaked everytime it rained. its probobly a long shot, but this diagnosis took us weeks to figure out on his truck. so if it isnt the cab lights take a look at the seams.
Water penetrations have a strange way of presenting themselves.
This is very true I have an upstairs window that during a really hard driving rain will leak but the water doesn't show up until the first floor and this is in the middle of the room it shows up at the end of a beam. So it travels down a wall and across a joist before coming out at the beam where it hits another beam. Anyway I am usually good with caulking things but the cab lights are different and even a small leak it will work its way in and run down. It could also be something to do with my window vent visors (in channel) as they don't seem to seal the way they did originally on my front windows. Anyway I will be caulking the lights again today as we are expecting some rain tomorrow so we shall see if it gets wet again.
I had a similar problem with wet carpets and I found the leak (turned out to be the 3rd brake light) by putting crumpled up paper towels everywhere I suspected the water could be coming from and see which one gets wet. I put them several places under the dash and in the kickpanels, near the door gasket, and in the channel under the door sill by the back seat. After a rain the only wet one was in the door sill. What sucks is that I put new bulbs in and siliconed the heck out of it and it stopped the leak, but last week the brake bulb burned out in the glued in light. Haven't tried to change it yet.
Well it looks like on the drivers side I may have had one screw that wasn't caulked well enough. I sealed it up yesterday before rain hit and no water on drivers side today. It is still just a bit wet from before but that is getting dried out. Of course I look over and see water dripping onto the passenger side floor mat. Yeah I was so excited to find more water. Turns out that side was sealed solid on the lights but the drain tube for the moon roof was blocked to the point that I could not even see it. So unblocked it with a Q-tip and cleaned the channel out real well. Hopefully this clears out all my interior water problem.
