OK for the past few weeks I have been notice water on my floor boards on the DRIVER's SIDE. Now I just did some cab lights and thought ok maybe thats it. About a week ago while it was raining out I dropped the headliner and it was dry as a bone. So I eliminated that as a possibility. Then I thought well maybe its my 3rd light and the water wasn't showing up until there. So that's been replaced and sealed tight. Now it has been cool here and has not rained in about a week now so everything should of dried out by now. I left the floor mat out all of yesterday and last night and came out this morning to a dry floor area. I put the mat back in and drove the 15 minutes to my office and pulled the mat back out and the floor was wet again. I have not run my heat or A/C in 4-5 days and have not had any weather other then sun since last Saturday. The water shows up on the back of the floor mat more as like a heavy condensation then anything else.
So my question is where is this water coming from?
Drew have you lifted the carpet yet?
It's really easy. The door sill is held down by three points. Start at one end and lift gently, it'll come off in your hands. Once the sill is up, the carpet edge is exposed. It has enough flex in the fabric to get your arm all the way to the trans hump. Might help you determine where the water might be coming from.
Once I got under the carpet, I found that the carpet insulation/backing is highly absorbent. I soaked a previously dry towel just by placing the towel under the carpet and letting the carpet lay on the towel. (my A/C line is apparently clogged). I was shocked at the amount of liquid that backing holds.
I was able to put a 1x2" plant stake under the carpet to let it air out. I also removed the piece of tape covering a hole in the floor pan to allow some fresh air under the carpet. You might not be able to drive like that (actually I wouldn't advise it) but at least you could prop the carpet up at night and let it get some air.
If you want to dry it out quicker I found that using a small electric leaf blower works really well. Lift up the carpet like mentioned and stick the tube of the blower under the carpet. You'll need to find something to support the other end. It will hold the carpet up and move lots of air. I had to do it twice because it will dry out the surface of the pad fast, but there was still moisture deep in the pad that will wick out in a day or two.
Alright got the carpet up and have the door open to allow some air to get under the pad and dry it out. As I was under there I finally noticed some rusty water spots coming down from the a post area. So I am going to assume that one of my cab lights is leaking after all and I will be pulling the headliner down again and resealing the holes. Has to be one close to that side because the water is coming down so quick it wasn't having time to sit on the headliner or show signs on the a post it self. Anyway thanks for telling me to pull the sill plate and lift the carpet should have it dried out this weekend.
you should check the winshield for cracked gasket or leak in that lower corner near that a pillar.you just put the lights in so i wouldnt think anything would be rusty after such a short time
Its not really rust but its is a small water spot that has some orange color too it so rusty is the best way to describe it but I will check out the windshield today.
I had the same problem. My water came from the break light on top of cab. Opened the light and the weather seal was not installed correctly. When I park on the driverway, the roof collected all the water into the light housing opening. It take a five days for two blowers to dry out the cab. Did every thing the other posing suggested too.
My suggestion would to not run the AC and see if it still gets wet. Your ac condensate drain could be plugged.

Yes, passenger side gets SOAKED with a plugged up A/C line. It shouldn't have any affect on the driver side...thus the reason Drew is a little stumpped on this one.
