Bought a set of used Ford Clearance lights on ebay....everything is in very nice condition. The harness that came with it does not have the square plug that I have seen in install pictures but rather a round plug with gray housing, in addition there is another plug that has a yellow connector with what looks like a BNC/Coax type connector. Is this normal??? What is the yellow connecter for??? Antenna or something for the overhead pod?
I have never seen one like that. ???
Does your Ex have the overhead console? If so, then you are good. Just follow the wires to the connector in the right kick panel. Disassemble your existing plug as well as the plug on the harness for the lights. There should be two vacant spots on your existing plug. Use a test light to see which one is power and which one is ground. Than insert the wires (with terminal ends) into the associated vacant spots on the original connector, replace the red locking blade and plug it back in.
Only little issue will be that the console harness will already be using the holes for the grommet pins so you will need to route the clearance light harness along side the console harness and secure with some electrical tape or little zip ties.
The grey connector looks normal... same thing that was on my pickup.
no clue what the yellow one is... coaxial cable, so I'm guessing an antenna of some kind. Coax is used to transmit signal, not power. That blue mess behind your hand looks very un-OEM to me...
Looks like what should be two separate harnesses from a '08+. The tag that is pictured with the base part number of 19A397 goes with the yellow connector and is the harness for the satellite radio antenna. The round connector is the harness for the roof clearance lights and should have a base part number of 15A404.
