First tow deleted

Made my first trip deleted yesterday. Using an almost obsolete Edge Racing evolution set on level 1, (55HP/150 lb) 320 miles from ATL to middle Mississippi, a trip I've made many times before. Mild terrain and no wind. Truck ran flawless, no problems at all. I did a very careful economy check, filling by hand to top of filler pipe both times. Result was 10.3 MPG, a 10% increase over previous trips and BTW exactly the MPG I got towing this trailer with my 7.3L. Edge says to tow on level 2, I'll try that going home. Checked the oil this morning and was about a half quart low. That was great.

Only problem is I read about the bounds electric truck and the $25,000 repair he had done under warranty. I have to admit it's making me think hard.

yeah, I'll miss that like a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. It was so nice today to check the oil and it's not completely black and over the fob on the dip stick. I'm thinking a couple change cycles will get all the nastiness out and the oil will be normal. I was so pleased I took it down town and had a guy detail it. Looks brand new now.

If mine made oil then I'd be looking for the delete too. Probably will as I get closer to the 100K mark.

Same here, just went over 1k on this oil change, checked it last night and mine is not completely black yet.
Would like to delete but can not justify yet!

Y'all are having better results than I had. I could change mine and start the trruck to get everything flowing and the filter filled up and when I shut it down the oil was black as tar already. Plus, when I got caught out in the midwest where all I could get was bio, my oil anaylsis came back with 6% dilution. That's just too much. Since then I was able to keep the oil level and dilution in check by adopting a radical oil maintainence program. But that got old in a hurry.

Sounds like you're enjoying your truck a bit more now! That's awsome, I know I like my truck alot better with out the regens.

Want to do it so bad but am scared of repair costs out of warranty. Stupid truck yesterday was on a good 50 mile highway trip and never decided to regen until I get home and was doing some stop and go and then got the drive to clean message. All Ford had to do was add a switch that you flip as soon as you are going on a highway drive so the truck would know it can regen completely.

Been in the same situation many a time, I would like ability to manual regen while on HW too. Would help to display soot level in DPF too.

Maybe some day Ford will listen.

And, thanks StanleyZ for sharing. If I keep mine long enough it too will have the DPF removed. I too have concerns reading about the astronomical non-warranty repair dollars.

Hope yours does good for you.

Bob
