Ive noticed that when i start the truck up, and put it into drive an push the throttle that it seems like the brakes are locking up. It has a harsh squeel forthe first 10 feet, but then it is fine... im scared to drive it much so i dont do further damage so please help me figure out whats wrong! it sounds like its coming out of the front axle, but it might be from the rear
thanks, Luke
Yeah it sounds like you need to jack the thing up and try to spin the wheels by hand. Note: you will likely want to try to jack up the whole rear axle and spin both wheels simultaneously if you have a limited slip differential in the back. It sounds to me like you have a caliper or drum that is hanging up.
Could be caliper, rubber hose to caliper (internal cracked rubber) can act like a flap and not allow the fuild to release.
Could be bearing too. Or master cylinder distribution.
As soon as it makes the noise next time put it in park and then reverse your direction of travel and post if it made a difference and then---
Do as DIYMechanic said as soon as it binds with the noise. Jack it up and spin them. Also have you had to add break fluid? If so you can have a hyper extended shoe set.
Dont know what kind of wheels you have on the front but you should be able to see thickness on the front pads just by looking.

Remembered from away back post- you know when you got the spanking for too much cornification lol
Anyhow back on task-
Chock the front tires jack up the rear and hand spin them forward.
If there is a bind (pull the tire) then loosen the shoe spreader bolt (rear side of drum just under the axle at the slit in the plate. You may have to use a screw driver to spin it to loosen it. Then ping the hub at 12 3 6 and 9 and pull it off and see if the shoes are worn off or hyper extended. Look for oil there too. Sorry if thats too much info on the removal- just dont know what you already know
