Lifters? Pushrods? What's that got to do with a 6.2L? Clearly idiots talking out their posterior ...

Some of ya'll need to google 6.2L cutaway pics. There's plenty of ticky things in there. Cam phasers. Valve train. Injectors.

The current 6.2 is still one of the better engines out there, give or take a bad batch of valve springs or valve guides around 2014.

Unhappy Bah!

2011 F250 w/117K and KAPOW! No signs of issues. Regularly maintained; no smoke, rattles, knocks, leaks, etc. Driving 80-85 mph and hear a loud bang and check engine comes on. Blown motor and or top end. It's sitting at Galpin Ford in So CA awaiting teardown. Was quoted $9,200.00 for a factory motor 3 year/unlimited mileage or top end would be $3,200 - $3,600. Was hoping to get 200k plus out of this motor. Never any issues other than power steering and dampner changed out at 72k.

You can have a ford remanufactured engine with 3 year warranty installed for nowhere near that price. We had a member here that's had to do it at 418k.

Until the OP reports back we really don't know what happened to this engine. It could have been a road Hazzard that caused it IE somthing knocking a hole in the oil filter ect...
To the OP please keep us posted on exactly what failed causing this.

My friend and I both bought f250 in January.
he hauls Amish and put 43k miles on his so far.
3 weeks ago it broke down and was running on 2 cylinder. They found there was a fire in the intake from an air leak messed up all kind of things.
ford sent a new motor to be installed but asked the tech to scope the cylinders first and found broken valve springs. They fixed the springs and put back together and it's running. Not sure what caused it but it was FUBAR.

Best engine I have owned other than the 7.3L Powerstroke.

I'm very happy with mine. 256,000 miles and running strong!

I have a 2010 Raptor with 318,000 kms and about 20,000 hrs on 6.2 had a rocker arm failure which in turn damaged cam lobe, Local ford store would not even look at it just said needs a new engine. Here is the kicker in the 2010 the 6.2 is a one off engine had to order cam and rocker arm assemblies from the UK of all places since none exist in North America. You can change the cam without removing the front cover. Took me 6 hrs to do it most cause I have never had a 6.2 apart before and I did it by myself best to have a helper for this, I hope to get another 100,000 out of it before I retire the truck, Another issue is the power steering pump, they no longer exist, cleaned the old one up really well and is working for now,

Roller rocker failure
