have a question

well my truck has been down for awhile due to a "blown motor" says the dealership....well i had a mechanic tear down the block this past weekend and we ended up finding out that 3 bolts on the hp were loose and the o rings were all ripped up and this is what the dealership last replaced the day before it "blew up".....i know orings play a big role but how big of a problem could this have done...also im blaming them yet lol but i just want answers...

Thanks,
Rick

We will need some answers from you to a couple of questions:

1. What was the repair that was previously done? (High Pressure Oil Pump)

2. Was the truck torn down by the dealer that repaired it days before, if not is it at an independent shop or another dealer?

3. Do you have the reciepts from the previous repair?

If the engine "blew up" due to a repair performed by the dealer that replaced the seals and STC fitting on the HPOP I would assume they are liable for repairing your truck.

If it is at an independent shop that has no idea what they are doing then you may have more troubles. Answer the questions above and I will try to help more when I see whats going on.

If that is the cause of the blown engine then the Ford dealer for sure should be responsable. Hopefullyt they make it right by you if not you need to call customer care, although since its at another shop I am not too certain what they will do now. You may need to have it towed back to the dealer that repaired it the first time or another Ford dealer in your area. Good luck and keep us posted.

hey guys sorry about not replying to yall been alittle busy....well i talk to the gm at ford and they said that there is no way those loose bolts on the hpop could have caused any problems to the motor in any way and that the problem was caused by another part failaure...so i took it to another mechanic and talk to them about it and showed them the problem and they said the same thing....so i guess it wasnt the dealership fault, even thought they didnt over look there work

So what is the outcome. What caused the failure, or what did the new tech find with the engine.

I am alittle confused because you say you have a blown motor but the HPOP only supplies the high pressure oil for the injectors. So if the o-rings were shot and the bolts loose then how could the injectors even fire. So my question is just what exactly blew up in your engine. Then you can figure out what the cause is.
