I have 7 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. At 6 years or 90,000 miles (whichever comes first) I pray the engine, transmission, front axle, and rear axle fail. BUT I am never this lucky!!!
4000 miles and no issues. Hot Shot rig so it gets worked. just put new oil. Mobil 1 extended performance full synthetic. Motor seems to like it. I put a lot of miles so I will keep yall informed of any problems. So far the 6.2 is Super! And I love the 6 speed tranny.
Well I now have 175000 miles with no issues, just spark plugs replaced
it's a great motor.
Just rolled through 100,000 miles on my 6.2. First maintenance on engine other than oil and filters. 16 spark plugs for $80 plus labor. Also need drain and refill coolant, dex-cool.
Am super happy. Mobil 1 0w-30 oil ever 5000 miles. Lots of WOT towing at time 15 minutes at redline climbing mountains towing my 8000 lb trailer. Super pleased.
I have a 2011 with 65K on it. Absolutely love the truck! second time owner on this one. I believe it was used prior as a plow truck. Plow wasn't on it when I bought it. Right now it's in the shop for exhaust manifolds. Driver side cracked near firewall. Had plugs put in it as well , while dissembled. No issues with oil consumption, but had the oil, and tranny dipstick holders replaced as well. both were heavily corroded and notice when doing the manifolds. Tranny stick was just beginning to leak. not sure if the manifold issue is the infamous issue Ford had with the Triton engines. Always been a Ford fan This is my 12th Ford. Had the V10 before that, but kept popping plugs.
Good friend of mine (mechanic)and ford F150 truck owner told me today that the 6.2 engines are starting to have engine failures. He told me he spoke to local ford dealer mechanics and they now have 3 fords(6.2 engines)in shop with bad engines.I say BS.I have not heard of any catastrophic failures.
Rumor is they got a 4th one in to work on yesterday!
There is an oldie here that goes on for quite a while where a guy reports engine out on a road trip and a dealer determines the cause is a shattered lifter.
no, it did not come in yesterday. the chevy tow truck broke down and they are waiting for a ford to bring it in.
Yea then go get my old gmc its probably rotted in half by now somewhere--just changed the oil on my 2015 CCLB 6.2 today has a whopping 16,761 on it now! It only let me go 4,101 before the CHANGE OIL NOW came up on the LCD productivity screen-i think thats what its called i ordered it that way.It must have known most of those miles were towing somehow. I like your shirt tommy
