Have spent the last few months working with Ford on trading my truck due to the excessive amount of time it has been in the shop (38 days in 8 months). I have an 03 X with the new 6.0 liter diesal which I absolutely love. Still have unresolved oil leakage issues that the Dealer has not been able to fix. Finally went to the Ford Dispute Settlement Board believing that a mutually satisfactory agreement would be at hand. Boy was I wrong, little did I know that if the vehicle is owned commercially your rights are diminished completely. I recieved a rather stern letter from Ford stating that my concerns would not be reviewed and that the matter is now closed since it is owned commercially. Anybody have any ideas other than going back to my Dealer and screaming until I pass out ?
I'm not the best on legal advice, but I suggest you get an attorney and take legal action. Ford seems to pay more attention to people when they threaten to take legal action. Your X is obviously a lemon if its giving you this many problems. Are there lemon laws where you're located? Or is that what Ford was referring to when they said the matter was closed?
Yes, we do have lemon laws but it seems that they only apply to "the consumer" and not commercial entities. Your attorney idea is good, I will look into it. Thanks

I would go after your dealer with both barrels loaded. I would be absolutely relentless when dealing with them. Call them everyday until the issue is resolved.
I had an issue with United Airlines once where THEY made a mistake on the itinerary of a flight. They wanted ME to pay 100.00 to make the correction per ticket. The original ticket was only 95.00!!! After an unmeasurable amount of time on the phone I finally drove down to the airport and visited the United ticket counter where you check your luggage in and secure your boarding pass. I was told numerous times to leave and they COULD NOT and WOULD NOT, change my ticket. They referred me to the dispute resolution 1-800 number. Well, after 45 minutes of loud talking, the GM came out from the back room and changed my itinerary for FREE... I will fly United again.
I'm not sure, but based on what nanuke1 has said so far, if seems like he's been to the dealership with both barrells already. It seems all the dealership did was stick their fingers in both barrells, probably laugh, and make life worse for him . But I don't think it will hurt to try again, if they give you a problem, hit em' where it hurts!
That's sad ! if the truck is bad... the truck is bad ! No matter who owns it...
You could try your local TV news "Complaint Line" or "Help" line...
If you make your case compellingly enough they may air it and put pressure on the dealership... AND Ford...
After all, look at what the Dallas _itch is doing to ford over the >75 mph rear end crashes in the crown vics....
ANY loss of life is sad... but if the City of Dallas requires a 75 mph crash testable car, they will end up with NO manufaturer wanting to supply them..
I guess they need to start getting bulldozers for the police cars

I agree. Here in Houston, Marvin Zindler and Fox 26 Investigates, always get results for anyone who has a good case. In fact, they have done a few cases where they exposed people trying to sell lemons to the unsuspecting consumer. Check around in your area, it will get you results. Besides, the last thing Ford needs now is a tarnished public image. If it does work out, you'll have a new truck in no time along with a sincere apology from Ford.

I am patiently awaiting the call back today. Assuming that all the Dealer does is offer me a discounted new truck and probably hose me on a trade-in, Ill have to live with my truck(which I still love even if it is a lemon) and plan on bringing it in every time I detect something wrong. If I plan it right I can set up all of my statewide business trips on their rental car for the next few years. I'll let you all know.
On another note, one of my biggest issues has been the leaking of the seals. It seems I always have something leaking in the driveway. Currently it is the transfer case and last month it was the power stearing unit. Has Ford had any problems with the seals on the 1st generation 6.0's?
There were all kinds of leak everywhere. But from what I've read, mainly on the transmission, started, and a few other places. But you should check the thread that Tim Lamkin started in the 6.0 forum https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=185570. There are plenty of answers there. On a different note, is your dealer and Ford willing to work something out?
Going in to Dealer tomorrow to fix oil leak on transfer case, constant "clunk" when going forward after backing up, problem with remote unlock not always working and major smoke upon startup. Sounds like I will have two vehicles, one in the shop and the other a free "loaner" car.
Truck is now at Dealer. Leaking fluid out of transfer case and also somewhere at the rear of the engine. Told me that they may have to pull the engine to repair engine leak. Will keep you guys posted.
