So ive noticed that my vent windows dont work very well. The handle is rusted on and they just dont work right. So i ordered new frames and glass.... Now how the heck do u take the old frame out?
It's rather involved cuz ya basically have to gut the entire door... The vent window frame will be last to come out.... '
might as well replace the seals and felts while it's waaaaaaay apart. Another "empty door" project is to clean and paint the interior surface - especially along the bottom where it can start to rust. 'might wanna apply some Dynamat before reassembly too.
Why is nothing easy.lol OHHHHH boy.... I guess this will be an all day project cuz i have to do both sides. And i will be replacing all felt and seals. Im tired of listening to the windows whistle!
Loosen the guide rail near the latch and remove the bolt with the spring at the vent window pivot point as well as the bolt just below the regulator. Roll the window partially down (not all the way).
You can remove the large window with out removing the regulator. Let it sit in the door. You can remove vent window at this point but the little bracket is a pain to remove with out removing the anti rattle strips.

Turn up the CD player and the whistling windows go away!
In comparison, IT IS EASY. Ya oughtta try working on a Porsche or Benz. They all use them damned plastic clips...and each one of 'em breaks when removed.
Patience, must have young Dentsider.

I plan on tinting the windows while they are out. Just have to find a good place do do it.... Anyone know what that would run? Also need the rear slider tinted.
just a thought i took some clear vinyl tubeing and cut it lengthways and sliped it on the edge around the acces hole to keep from cutting my arms apart
