well today my truck broke a couple valvesprings. the truck has a 400 with an RV cam in it not sure what make it is or the specs. what are good springs to get? thanks guys
Something caused them to break. Was it checked for push rod length when the cam was put in ? Were the springs checked for coil bind ? What shape are the valve guides in ?
The head set up and springs are very specific for each cam. The manufacturer requires the installed height, seat psi too. It all needs to be measured and set by a machinist.

Another thought ... new springs on a worn cam?
the previous owner did install all new valvesprings, how would new springs on an old cam cause them to break?

There is a difference between installing new springs and installing them correctly. Were they the recommended springs for that cam? Did the machinist set them to the manufacturer's installed height, and seat psi? If they are breaking something is not kosher.
would new springs on an old cam cause them to break? Ask a machinist.
