I HAVE A 2006 6.0 THAT LOST BOOST PRESSURE OUT OF MY HOME STATE(TX). THE LOCAL DIESEL SHOP IN NEW MEXICO COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM RIGHT AWAY. THEY CLEANED THE VEINS IN THE TURBO AND REPLACED THE MAP SENSOR....NO LUCK. THEN THEY CHECKED THE CAT IN THE EXHAUST AND NOTICED IT WAS SEVERELY CLOGGED UP. THEY PRETTY MUCH "DELETED" THE CAT BY BUSTING OUT ALL THE HONEYCOMBS INSIDE. BOOST PRESSURE CAME BACK RIGHT AWAY. BUT NOW IT DOES MAKE A SUTTLE WHALING SOUND WHILE DRIVING, PLUS THE EXHAUST SOUNDS STRANGE WHEN IDLING. MY QUESTION IS, WHAT SHOULD I HAVE DONE WHEN I GET IT BACK HOME, IF ANYTHING. IT HAS 90K. I JUST WASN'T SURE TO LEAVE IT AS IS OR REMOVE THE ENTIRE CURRENT PIPE EXHUAST FOR A STAIGHT PIPE. SINCE I PUT AROUND 8-10K MILES PER MONTH, I WOULD LIKE TO CROSS MY T'S AND DOT MY I'S BEFORE PUSHING THE TRUCK ANY FURTHER. I APPRECIATE YOU GUYS THOUGHTS AND INSIGHTS. I HAVE READ MANY POSTS OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS; AND YOU GUYS REALLY KNOW YOUR STUFF.
