Well got truck back saturday. Ran fine all weekend. Left town monday nite for AZ. got to mile marker 185 in kent tx and truck shuts off. Coast off the exit. Call serive guy to come out. Added 2 gallons of oil??? So i got a leak somewhere. get it all back together and now truck wont start. Egr temp is in middle..oil cooler temp is low. all other gauges in normal area. engine light on. Truck sounds like it wants to start just wont turn over. any ideas? Havin truck towed to fort stockton. only 2000 miles on the 12/12. they payin for it all this time.
part was 262. 00 thats ford price.. called my home dealership to verify. labor is 4hrs on labor chart that ford dealer has..again called my dealer to verify. labor in odessa tx on diesel os 140.00 hr. when they were fixing this they found a clamp or some sort of housing uint that was broke also. 2 hr labor for that and that part was 127.00 so yea it sucks but will be on road tomorrow around noon. when the ipr failed or bracket came off it caused some hose to come off and dumped my oil on the interstate.
on a side note since i am working on building a new truck...lol..sarcasim....i need to get some sort of programmer to increase my fuel. at 62 mph towing 8000 lbs i get 9-10mpg at 62 empty i get 15-17mpg..need to increase. only mod is sittin on 305 tires but i plan on getting stock size tires in a month or so
$140 an hour? Dang! I work on Apache helicopters for a living and the contractor I work for charges the US government significantly less per hour ( of which I make significantly less). That's with 2 years of school (or military service) and continuing training and certification that involves passing tests! Maybe I'm in the wrong line of work. Is that a common rate these days?
