Then it should be really easy to make nice with HER! There are definitely some good service writers who happen to be girls.

One question, do you have any idea how many miles since the oil cooler repair? I don't think I saw that in your post.

Just be glad it happened during your 12/12 warrenty period. That is a blessing that will probably save you thousands of dollars. My truck had problems during the 12/12 warrenty and my dealer took care of it with no questions.

theres 2 ways an oil cooler will fail ECT vs EOT spread [plugging]

or internal rupture like you have

I have seen others oil cooler rupture internaly but there ECT vs EOT spread was GOOD under 15*

you cant always See a popped oil cooler [internal rupture] coming like you can a pluggedc oil cooler

Even if you had gauges you might not of seen this one coming I beleive it was a defective oil cooler from the word go

they also need to pull the front cover off and replace and clean where the water pump goes

Hope you get it covered under the 12/12 warenty ford is usually good about it you might even get a remanufacture moter out of the deal but maybe not cuz your standpipe didnt melt

good luck with it

cool keep us informed IDK how all it works when the covered part fails and causes a snowball effect

Iv seen when the whole truck is covered and ford takes care of everything
but where the trucks not covered only the one part was but took out a bunch of stuff like that
I would think ford will make it right

@ ffengine51, jus saw the pics. boy tats a real mess. i mean, dirty boy! if my baby was spewing oil like tat, i'd spank her. hard too. lol. she might like it. lotsa work, but doable. like everybody else said, if its covered, i'd take it back and have em clean it up. it should be covered under warranty the first time.

check ur receipt / invoice. it should be somewhat listed in there. they may not have replaced ur oil cooler, cos for ur situation where it was so messy, something dun seem right. i tink. egr cooler was replaced? u might wan to pull ur egr valve and see if there's any coolant in there too. if there is, then there might be a prob wif the egr cooler. possible egr cooler failure, so since we assume its covered under warranty, have the dealership change out the egr cooler again.

if there's a way to do it, try to keep an eye on some of them folks. they may just clean out ur egr cooler if it aint broke. i'd insist on a new one. its ur right as a paying customer and tats why u got tat warranty. its not recommended to reuse an egr cooler after a prob like tat. i tink i read it somewhere on them motorcraft bulletins.

my head's spinning from tension and it's nobody's fault. jus another day in paradise. best of luck to u, ffengine51. i tink i hear a margarita wif a big fat worm calling me.

@ texans, hey scotty! how u been? good i hope.

everybody, have a great labor day weekend!

ffengine51:
I just read the posts. Man that looks bad. I hope the 12/12 covers you.
I just had my EGR cooler (Replaced with a Bullet Proof EGR Cooler) and Oil cooler replaced. They used 3 gallons of Simple Green for the flush.
When I detected my problem, I had some oil in the coolant and some blowby out of the Degas bottle.
I have purchased a ScanGauge - Trip Computer + Digitial Gauges + ScanTools The ScanGauge shows alot of information about the truck.
