Please Help

[/IMG]I just had EGR replaced 5000miles ago. No other issues on truck. Coming home today from wally the engine collant temp gauge spiked into red. Stopped truck and this is what i found. Any ideas?

ok i can post the pics..how do i post pics?

I am reallly curious to see what you found...?

Blown oil cooler? Egr cooler?

Oh thats bad!! Failed oil cooler. You are going to have a big mess to clean with this one. I would recommend changing the egg cooler again with the oil cooler. As the new egr cooler IMHO is compromised now. Going to need to replace all rubber hoses in the coolant system, as well as heater core, and radiator. Lots and lots of flushing with simple green too. Here are the pics.


He sent more to, but there irrelevant. You have a blown oil cooler. Pull the oil filter and make sure the stand pipe isn't melted!!

lmao....not a clue on what to pull or check. the ford dealership replaced the oil cooler..egr..egr valve less then 5000 miles ago. i was 3 miles from house when it happened. milked it home

If ford dealer replaced it then you should still be under warranty. Take it back to them and have them fix it.

Won't know about blown HG until the oil cooler is fixed. Pull the oil filter, it's the big cannister on top of motor with black cap. Look at the stand pipe. That's the part that sticks up through the middle of the oil filter housing that the oil filter goes over. Look to see if it's melted. If it is the motor is toast.

biggest socket i have is inch and 1/4. cant get cap off. have to go to town and get a bigger socket. should i drive the ford...lol.
