My passenger door window get's stuck (all the way down 95% of the time), and I have to take the door panel off and remove the motor and put it back on to get it unstuck. It's like it's in a bad bind so much that I have to hit the motor off but putting it back on it's normal and it functions fine until I go for a drive and try to shut the window. If I don't put it all the way down it usually is fine but my family always does it...
Suggestions? I greased it and it didn't help. I need to replace the door anyway, but I would like it to work until then.
If you've never touched the motor before, that would be the next step.
I had the same issue. Wasn't happening to me, only passengers. Gradually became more frequent and I replaced the passenger side motor and lubricated everything. Not a month later the driver's side failed on me too....
If you don't have the donor door with its motor to try, might have to purchase a new one and reinstall it once you put the new door on.
My window kept getting stuck right where you say yours is getting stuck, and I tried a couple of lubricants on the side tracks, but nothing helped until I bought some cheap spray silicon at Ace hardware. $2.50 a can. Loaded both sides down with spray, and it's held up great for two months now. Goes up and gown smooth as silk.
My Bronco's driver window would twist sideways like near the bottom, so last week I sprayed it too. Now it's smooth as silk.
That spray silicon is great stuff for window tracks. Come to think of it, I think I'll spray the Bronco's rear window tracks this weekend. The window is kinda slow, so maybe this will help it out.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I replaced all the gear bushings in all the window motors in both trucks so far this year.
Yes! I forgot to give you guys an update. I took appart the motor and replaced these three little plastic pieces and it has been working fine ever since.
People have reported a "permanent" solution by replacing these little things with 6 nuts (two stacked together for each section). When I took my motor appart someone had already installed three nuts (none stacked). I removed them and installed the little plasic pieces without problems.

Yup, them's the ones.
I would spray the tracks anyway, as the motor is bound to have wear on it, so the lube will take some stress off of it.
Good going on the bushings though...should last another 20 years now!
