ok soo i do have electric windows and i just noticed today that like when i put up the passenger window it like skips going up almost like its gettin hung up on sometime, the window does go down fine but like i said when i put it up it like skips and will actually stop going up until let off the switch and hit it again..i just noticed it doing this
IIRC, The Super Duties still use the soft plastic rollers in the gear head of the window motor ( changed many of these in the OBS trucks and cars) . These rollers will deteriorate and cause slipping when under a load. That is why it works better going down. Auto parts usually carry repalcements and pretty easy to change after removing the window motor. I will post a link to the kit in just a minute.
could this be the reason i have been having trouble with this window over the last couple months?? like sometimes the window would quit workin and if i open and closed the door occasionally it would start working again?? or if i took the door panel off and wiggled the motor it self sometime that would make it work
When you have gear problems the motor will still be working, but not turning the gear to the window regulator. You could still be having an elecrtical problem with the motor or wiring if it's not turning at all. Can you hear it even when it's not moving?
no when the window quits working i cant hear anything running but i check for power down at the motor and i do have power soo it must be a problem with the electronics in the motor it self, but i just noticed the window kinda skipping when it goes up yesterday first day it ever did that
i unplugged the motor and test the wires comin from the switch and they had power, its wierd though i think the terminals on the motor itself are abd or something cause if i would unplug it and plug it back in, that would make the window start working again

Go on the internet and google ford window lift motor. Simple 15 minute fix. If yours is like mine, the motor brushes are worn out (slamming door jars the motor enough to get some temporary window action)
Easy fix, did both of mine in less than 1 hour. Plenty of Saturday left for a couple of brewskis!

jer
i just tried googling that and i cant find anything can you find the site and paste it
ok and i'm guessing when i take the motor out i'm going to have to do the old tape the window up truck or else it will fall??
All you have to do is remove the door panel, carefully peel back the dust shield paper. You will be able to see the lift motor, remove the bolts holding it to the frame (do not unbolt the regulator assembly), install new motor, re tape the dust shield, re-install the door panel.... DONE!! (brewski time!)
