Needed: Picture of an installed Clutch Release Spring
Apparently there is not a picture of one I can find on Google, this forum or anything.
The spring on my throwout arm to the slave cylinder is gone. I bought a new spring and can't find where the mount for the other end goes. I can see the eyelet on the arm but cannot find the other end or a good place to hook the spring.

If you have a 223, the bracket's part number is listed (COTT-7542-A). If you have a 292, the parts catalog says: "improvise."

Yes... agreed. Where? That's the problem. There is one way up front that stretches the spring all the way (just below where the bag for the washer fluid would be but on the frame, below the fender interior.)
If I do that... the slave rod pulls all the way back and the arm pulls all the way in and when I press the clutch the pedal goes to the floor with no tension.
As it is right now, there is tension on the clutch and it works fine but I have a rattle down there I am trying to eliminate.

The frame side of the bracket has one bolt hole. Look on the frame rail for a corresponding hole.
What is the length of your clutch return spring?
As original: B7C-7523-A .. Clutch Return Spring / 11 55/64" free length / 51 coils / Obsolete
Applications: 1957/60 F100/600 / 238 available NOS. Only CA source: Carmenita Ford Trucks in Santa Fe Springs has 2 = 562-404-6399.

If you were to lay on your back and look up at the bottom of the frame rail, you'd likely see the hole that the flat bar bolts to.I just came in for the evening,so I'm not wanting to go lay on my back under the truck tonight, BUT, I'll do it tomorrow after work and get a measurement for you if you've not found it by then.Have you bought a factory manual yet?It has a very clear exploded drawing.

I would guess there are some differences on a '60 with hydraulic clutch, but the concept is correct.

Yeah... That does help. The spring I got is from Vintage Ford specific for the 57-60.
The PO had the same spring (much older) hooked to the radiator mount. Noticed last night when I got the forward mount off. There is no hole in front of the stop on my 60. I am thinking of using the rear bolt and pointing the mount back (which looks like three inches)
I am thinking what I have is the right mount. Wondering if there was a super long spring... Most if this truck us there just super old but clean. The slave cylinder looks newer then the other components. The fluid and action are fine, just stabilizing this arm is a key for clutch life to me. Too much noise down there...

So looking at the rubber stop... Just think it is backwards and spring bracket was placed in wrong spot. Should the rubber stop be in the center of the leaf spring? There are three holes there. The rubber stop is on the back two. The clutch spring bracket was on the front. It would seem to me the rubber stops would be dead center of the leaf spring. The back is exactly by measurement, the correct spot for the bracket. Should the rubber stop be back of center or dead center of the leaf spring?
