Clutch Return Spring Question.
I swapped out a c-4 for a 3.03 3 speed. I have all of the linkage for the clutch except the return spring and bracket. A mechanic friend of mine told me to drill a hole in the cross member and use a trampoline spring. Has anyone ever done this? Will it work?

I'd be very leery of taking this guys advice, because he hasn't a clue!

CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 560 = 800-476-9653.
One end of this spring attaches to the fork (7515). The other end attaches to a hole in the frame rail, located in front of the outer clutch pivot (7507).
