I swapped out a c-4 for a 3.03 3 speed. I have all of the linkage for the clutch except the return spring and bracket. A mechanic friend of mine told me to drill a hole in the cross member and use a trampoline spring. Has anyone ever done this? Will it work?
I would think it would work, but unless you have a hydraulic clutch, I would think it would make pushing and holding in the clutch extremely difficult.

One end of this spring attaches to the fork (7515). The other end attaches to a hole in the frame rail, located in front of the outer clutch pivot (7507).
