My truck was going down the road just fine and all of a sudden it just quit. I got the truck started again no problem, but when I pushed the brake to put it into gear, it would die again.
After about three or four times of this happening, it started and drove home just fine.
I replaced the alternator two months ago and the problem is just now occurring. The boot covering the main power wire from the alternator had dry rotted so I used electrical tape instead to cover the connection.
The connections to the alternator are fine and very tight. Could a loose connection to one of the batteries cause this to occur? Especially when I push the brake pedal?
I have a code reader and I have zero fault codes and no CEL.
I didn't see any link in your reply for recalls DND, but that's ok. I did a search and didn't find anything. I'm sure it wasn't very exhaustive, but that's ok too.
The web site for GUzzle was out of the CPS, but my local Dealer has 4 in stock and is wanting $28.30 for one. He said that it's gray, but it's the newest one that they make and not like the old gray one that caused all the problems. He told me that the black one was discontinued and that's probably why Guzzle doesn't have any in stock.
