Need help ASAP!!!

Hey guys, I'm having a problem.
And I'm new to diesels
I'm working on a 1996 f250xl with the 7.3l powerstroke and the cps and the alternator went out at the same time. They both we're replaced. Now the truck burns up every new alternator that is put on it. This happens as soon as you try to start it. I am buying from my boss who got from another guy, so I don't know much about the truck.

I have traced all the wires that I know to check for a bare spot or a short but can't find anything wrong. The alternator tested good at orileys, but on the truck it's putting out 25 volts. Please help me figure this out.

Are the batteries hooked up wrong Sounds like u have hooked them up as a series circuit. Is the alternator wire going to batteries or solenoid. My truck it is going to solenoid.

Yes the are hooked up as a series circuit. But it was like that when it got here. I should mention that this was a utility truck and used to have a crane and stuff like that.

with it showing 25 volts
That's whats burning up everything these are 12 volt trucks.
25 v going to starter will spin the crap out of it
In the old days we had a solenoid on a 79 f350 that would run everything on 12 but it would send 24 to the starter with the extra battery when going to start it then back to 12 to charge both
Cant find it anymore that I've been able to look around
