No, no. You didn't catch earlier when I mentioned the little LED under the dash. That little LED that is taped right next to the programming pushbutton (the little white "bulb"). That's the one that lights to indicate on or off of an option. So you need to be able to see that LED under the dash when you are doing this.

Once I reprogrammed mine, I stepped through all the options to double check I didn't change anything else from the original setting. That's how I was able to keep track of what all the settings should be, in case I ever reset everything to default.

Ok - you are right. I held the FOB button two long on bank seven and it did chirp four times meaning I reset everything. So now, I need to make sure that option 1 (tach) is set to on and option 7 is set to off.

I will have to look at the little LED light taped to the programming button to see is each option is on (lit) or off (unlit.)

Will report back later.

Good luck. I'm around if you run into a jam. Make sure you change option 2 as well. You only want it set for a 1 second crank.

These trucks have some time of electronic strating/ignition system. The RMST doesn't need to read RPMs as it know the status of the truck through the computer. That's why, if you notice when you start with the key, you don't have to hold the key until it actually starts. You just move it to "start" and can let go immediately, and it will still crank until it fully starts.

So are you all set now?

YEEEEEEEEHAAAAAWWWWWWW!!!!

It Worked !!!!!!!
I am grateful for all your help. Thinking about charging my services as independent contractor for local Ford dealer who says it can't be done. Let's see, 4 months research @ 20 hours per month. Hmmmmmm $350 per vehicle. :-)

It makes for a whole new remote start experience doesn't it? It's good stuff. Glad you got it reprogrammed and all is well! I think Ford will never do it because of MyKey. If I'm ever asked about it during servicing my answer will be "no idea, I got it this way."

kw5413, thanks for the great video, your instructions worked on my wifes 2014 KR. I had to remove the dash panel below the steering wheel and to the left. The service button was behind the silver colored trim panel, closest to the door with the brake adjustment switch. As far as Ford stating a safety issue with their factory programming, my 2013 Super Duty does not shut off when the door is opened and it came this way from the factory.

It is my understanding that this "security" feature does not apply to Ford trucks.

Procedures a little different for my Navigator

Hey guys. Fantastic thread! Saved me a lot of hassle, and scored some points with the wife so she doesn't have to re start the Navigator every time she starts it remotely.

I wanted to post because after about two hours of messing with it, I found out that the procedures for my 2011 Navigator L were a bit different. Hopefully it might help someone else from wasting some time.

Procedures to get into bank one and bank two are the same (four chirps and five chirps while holding the button with foot on the brake), but after you take your foot off of the brake, the way to get into the options on the Navi was not to push the button under the dash again, but rather to tap/hold/release the brake pedal. When you do this, it will chirp once for option one and the LED will show if it is on or off....(just like the other procedures....you still turn options on/off with the remote). If you want option two, put your foot back on the brake until it chirps, twice, and so on for 3,4,5,6, and 7.

Hopefully this makes sense, and helps a few folks that may have had the same issue that I was.
Cheers,
Keith

First time post, forgive me if I have missed this somewhere.

I Have a 2010 Expedition Limited with SYNC and MyKey, and I would like to install a remote start. The Kit I would like to get is p/n AL1Z-19G364-A, the two way system for vehicles with SYNC. From my understanding, it is plug and play. The question I have, is do I need to purchase the PATS interface along with it as well, p/n 8L3Z-19G365-BA. I think I do but wanted to ask you guys before I go spending money.

Thanks

I bought the B kit and the PATS was included. I reckon it would be the same for you.

I installed this a few weeks ago on my wife's 2011 Navigator and the procedure was just as described in the thread for Ford.

Not trying to argue but want to help as I found this install to be a little bit frustrating. I should add that I did the install and everything worked fine. Then when I went to do this door fix I held the fob too long and reset everything. I was going into fits for a couple hours til I reread this thread and found out I needed to reset everything again. Now wife is happy, so everyone is happy.

Orange Whip X3, Looks like you are right. thanks for the input.

For anyone questioning if the kit for their vehicle comes with the pats interface, I found a pdf online that tells you which years and kits do and don't come with the pats interface

Just got my kit in today and had it installed in less than an hour. Way easier than I thought it would be, even with the door open reprogram. Started right up on the first try.

Thanks to w17625410 for the videos you put on youtube, they were a great help.
