Remote start with MyKey

I believe you are correct. I'm going to try this on my 2013 Expedition this weekend. I'll report back when I'm done. Thanks

Please do. I just bought my wife a 2013 Expy KR and was going to install the bi-directional remote start. If it turns out opening the door kills the engine and the door ajar entry delay can't be enabled I'll pass on the Ford unit and install an aftermarket one. I've got a 2011 F-250 with factory remote start that works as a remote start should. Can't think of any good reason why Ford would design a system that kills the engine when you open the door.

I'm wondering the same thing. I have a 2014 Expy Limited. I want to disable the shut off when you open the door. I've found tons of instructions on doing it, but no confirmation you can do it on a 14. I read one post somewhere that said the 14s use a CAN network, and you can't do it. But I can't see them changing it in 14 only, vs 13 and 12, etc.
I did a test yesterday too. Sitting in the truck, I used the remote start. Just putting the key in the ignition shut the truck off. Didn't touch the brake or open the door. So does disabling the door opening, if we can, also fix the shut off with key insertion?

I just did my 14 tonight. Worked like a charm. You have to press the button hard, and deep, into it's socket until it bottoms out. The first time, I thought I was pressing it all the way, and nothing. No beeps. The second time, I got a better grip, and it worked great. I actually just did it twice. Once, to shut off the door open/key insert power down. And then I decided to extend the runtime to 15 minutes from 10.
Works awesome now! But does this disable MYKEY? The setting is still in my Setup menu. I just want to be sure that if the remote start is configured as a MYKEY, that driving away with it having been started by the RS, that it doesn't enforce any limitations on the truck in any way. I want all MYKEY stuff disabled.

I had to remove the lower steering trim and the trim plate that holds the power pedal height adjustment button. My remote start button was behind that pedal button taped up very well to the harness coming off the remote start. It was completely hidden when just viewing from underneath the dash looking up. I just did it this week. Now too you can use the "quick stop" feature of the remote start.

You have the single button remote start right? I bet you either aren't pressing the button all the way, or are missing a step. Be very careful. Press and hold brake, turn key to on (do not let go of brake), press button firmly for about 10-12 seconds (make sure the button has bottomed out, meaning you really pressed it all the way and you are still holding brake), and then it should enter programming mode. You can then let go of brake and continue.
If it really isn't working, maybe you don't have the same system (which I find unlikely).
The first time I did it, I couldn't get it into programming mode. I wasn't pressing the button far enough in. Oh, make sure all doors and the hood are closed too. And all interior lights OFF.
