Yes, I set it yesterday on mine and it works like a charm. If there are any issues they have not shown themselves..,

As rtf505, my Expy is a 2011.

function12,

The only issue you will notice is that if you program the remote start as a MyKey restricted then when you use a MyKey Master (un-restricted) when you remote start the car will run in MyKey restricted mode. The key has no effect on the selection of how the car runs.

And Vica-Versa, (and probably why FORD will not change it for their customers). If you have the Remote Start set as Master (un-restricted) if you remote start and then put in a MyKey restricted key it will stay in non-restricted mode thereby bypassing the security features of MyKey.

If you don't use MyKey functionallity (and I suspect most people don't) there will be no adverse effects.

Of course, this is my experience and opinion. If anybody can tell me something I haven't thought of I would like to hear their explanation.

Johnny

for you guys that have been successful,

did your vehicles come with "sync", my tech guy at the dealership told me that if the vehicle came with sync, that it does not have the programming button and their is no way to change the optiosn

He's not telling you the truth. I have a 2011 limited with navigation and every other option. It's there. You can see it if you look under your dash. The dealership won't do it, I suspect for liability reasons since the Mykey system can be circumvented.

you have a 2011 expedition with nav?

i'm looking under the dash and i just can't find it.

i don't think he'd lie to me, he's a friend of mine. he said he knows what i'm talking about and on the systems "he" installs it's there. i looked at the code systems websites and the modules are definately different.

but if you have a limited expedition then it def should work. or is yours an f150?

i have the 4 button key "lock, unlock, alarm, and power liftgate", with the single button remote start

here is the app chart from code systems website

notice the expedition has 2 different parts

Yep mine is a 2011 Ford Expedition Limited with NAV from factory. Key FOB sounds exactly the same. The button is taped up very close to the bottom of the dash about center. They taped it up with electrical tape. I'll get a picture of mine and post it when I get a chance.

Maybe they got carried away with the tape and covered the whole thing.

Ok he probably didn't lie to you, but I am sure this is not a change that FORD condones. So they don't tell their techs about it. I was told by FORD that it couldn't be changed and they told me they spoke to the Engineers. However mine works as it should...Remote Start...Key in....Drive off.

Beefcake,

Here is where the button is taped to my Expy (2011 Limited with NAV/Sync). Hope this helps you find yours.

A closer more in focus picture of the button,

And a picture of my Key FOB,

I couldn't get a look at mine so I used my iPhone to take a photo then found it by hand...they went nuts on the tape on mine and I never got it completely undone, but got enough slack to see the LED while programming. My has sync, nab and the identical key as j law.

Thanks all for this post.

Just went out and reprogrammed my 2010 Expy.

I got to thinking when my 2011 F150 with mykey does not die when door is opened why cant my 2010 Expy.

Used instructions per the code site and it worked as explained.

Remote Start

Hello all. I just signed up after purchasing my 2010 Navigator. I have wanted one for over 10 years. I also just purchased the remote start and was looking at the threads about the auto shut off when you open the door. I now Ford programmed it for safety, but just like the rest of you, I do not like that part. I will be installing my remote start next week and was wondering how you programed yours to keep running after you open the doors? Thanks in advance.

The code site is on the first page of this thread.

Now for my question. Does anyone know if this info also applies to the 2013 Expeditions?
Thanks
