Flush thoroughly with clean water. I recommend Prestone Red HD ELC coolant.
What is it about the powdered dishwashing detergent that makes it the wise choice?

Actually two things- It is designed to break the surface tension between the dirt and the surface its clinging to, that is why its gets your dishes so clean. Second, it contains a mild and non harmful degreaser (think bacon fat) that will suspend the oil and other crap in your cooling system so you can drain it out. This is not a tick I leanred at Prestone, its an old mechanics trick from when trans coolers would leak trans fluid into cooling systems. Dropping that calgon in there really works.

This is one of the GREAT things that happen at FTE..... we get the BEST advise!! From all the pro's. We know they are pro's when they get questioned by a knowledgeable member and they don't get bothered by it! They come back with a logical response!!!

Thanks motorking! and you too Steve!
