I was driving my 05 Excursion up from Myrtle Beach (hauling a TT) and my check engine light came on. I took it over to AutoZone to get the code read and it came out with "Injector Circuit Low" on all 8 cylinders. Is this a case of me need to put some injector cleaner in, or is this much worse? I would prefer to hear from the FTE Experts before taking it into the dealership.
It means your FICM has basically failed. Check out FICM Repair.com - Your Source for FICM Repair before you take it to the dealership. Ed does good quality repairs for a VERY reasonable price.
After doing a search, I found that I didn't really give a lot of information.
There are no modifications to the truck.
Engine SOUNDS fine and runs fine. Starts up fine and no white/black smoke.
I did stop a a travel plaza and filled up on the "tractor" diesel from one of the semi-truck pumps. My personal belief is that this may have been a factor since the issue is affecting all 8 cylinders.
The truck ran strong all the way down (10hr haul) and all the way up until I filled up with that diesel, which is shortly displayed the light.
All temps recorded normally and fluid levels were all fine.
Sorry, but it's not indicitave of poor fuel quality, it's electrical codes and when you get all 8 with a good running truck it USUALLY means your FICM is bad. There is a procedure in the tech folder at the beginning of this forum that gives the test procedure.
