I NEED HELP .Has any one had a problem with thier check engine light that keeps coming on. The 1st time the EGR valve was defective. It was replaced light went off. about 100 miles later it came on again. Took back to dealer they found no code. About 121 miles later it came on again. Is scheduled to go backto the dealer for the 3rd time . I hope they can find the problem this time. It's a 2004 very low miles. Any suggestions would be helpful.
I have an early 05 and I get an intermittent check engine light every once in a while. Truck always runs fine so I just ignore it. I have noticed that it goes out after about 8 starts and won't come back on again for a couple of months. Haven't had time to get to the dealer to find out why though.
The check engine light is exactly that. Something is setting off an alarm that something isn't right. I had a light which would go on then off. So instead of calling for an appointment the next time it cane on. I drove it in and didn't shut the engine off and had a tech check for codes and he found it.
Mine comes on and the truck seems to run better believe it or not . The 8 starts is about right and it goes off . It has only came on when towing so who knows. I don't want to take it in because its running to damm good . Aint broke dont mess with it sounds ok to me.
Took mine in for check engine light and was told it would take 3 hours to run codes ( yea right)and they didn't have time just bring it back next week. Well light went off before going in, the only code that came up was water in fuel was told that was my problem, ( who do these guys think there fulling). It has come on twice since then and it is always around 1/4 tank of fuel, as soon as I fill up the light will go back out. Light has never set a code yet.
that "pressure switch" is called the ebp sensor. this new reflash takes the ebp sensor out of the equasion. there has been problems with ebp in the past
The only problem now is that the waste gate is making a noise on acceleration. The mechanic tells me when he reflashes this will cure this. He hopes?? if not he will put on a new turbo. He tried to reflash but his maching was having a problem. He will do this when his machine gets fixed.

would this also keep it out of the loop if you up load a program from edge ???
i have been having problem with my tunner and i think it is the EBP switch problems ? i have just gotten the new flash too.
the problem is that tuners recognize a certain program, and then switches places with it in the controller. thats why you cant program more than one vehicle with it. when you get a reflash,the controller no longer recognizes the program and wont work.
I may have called it a waste gate by mistake. The dealership said it was a vane opening and shutting?? I new to the diesel engine. My check engine light came on again so I restarted the engine 5 times and it went off. I will be glad when my dealer can fix thier machine and can reflash or upgrade.
