I would like to install a kill switch and was thinking about cutting the wire to the starter solenoid and running it up into the cab somewhere and using a key switch and then back down to the solenoid. what do you all think? Or if there is a better way I would love to hear it. Thanks.
I just read a post that talked about using the brake pedal switch where as you could start the truck but could not put it into gear. I guess the pin is very hard to break. And by using this method my remote start would still work.

The solenod wire already has a snap connector located on the passenger inner fender well just behind the battery.. Make your connection there or just pop the hood and disconnect the factory connection..
I just found this thread trying find where to install an on and off switch myself, which is probably way over doing it already because what started out as 2 different problems turned into 2 different anti-theft measurements, so first off the clutch safety switch wasn't mounted where it should've been, it was hanging by the wires, I didn't notice because for awhile I had to start my truck by jumping the starter(bad solenoid) after fixing that I wondered why it wouldn't start with the new solenoid, had to hold the metal stick in by hand, if you needle nose pliers you can rip out the spring and the piece back and fourth by hand, if you leave it on you dont need the clutch to start it, but cant use cruise control, I have after market steering wheel anyways so I leave it on and disconnect the switch completely sometimes, but I dont always think to take it out, another is the arm that connects to the ignition key was broken where it runs down the top of the steering column, couple inches before it disappears in the dash, couple months of pliers, channel locks, and vice grips, I finally made it into a custom, one of a kind push start, still needs the key to unlock the wheel, if that all isnt enough, on and off switch J just bought is gonna do the trick
Keep in mind a starter disable is easy to get around.
You want to disable something critical that is not going
to be easy to find or work around.
Just look in the Tech Folder for things that can cause a No Start
do to electrical issues. Then all you need is a diagram and pick
your own spot to cause the fault at.
