i am looking into installing a simple switch and momentary switch setup for a push button start on my truck, i have no column lock, just need to figure out a setup to use a switch to power everything in the truck on and push to start. i was thinking about wiring up another solinoid and wiring all the wires up to one and a hot wire to the frist solenoid and using the second to start the truck. any input on this one?
Put in your momentary switch, run a fused 12+ wire to it from the battery. Then run another wire from the switch to the small wire on the solenoid mounted on the fender.
yeah i got that already but i still have to move the switch inside the column back and forth to get everything to start powering up so that the truck will actually start.
I didnt want to start a new post so please read below...
I have a busted column and the switch is not able to be replaced, i purchaced a universal keyed ignition switch. it has 3 terminals: 12v+, Ignition and Solenoid. i need to know what wires i need to wire those to to be able to shut the truck off and power it on with this switch. Ignition to Gray, 12V+ to Yellow and Solenoid to Brown/Purple
