I saw on youtube how to make a power bleeder with a small vacuum cleaner and a fruit jar with a couple of tubes. I'm going to give it a whirl today, and will post my results. I'm going to start by changing the master, since it won't cost me anything. Of course I'll run a couple of quarts of fluid through the system to clean it out first.
If that doesn't take care of it, I'll move to the hydro unit.
I've got one. And have two adapters. One for the newer plastic ford reservoirs with the round lids and one for the old cast iron reservoirs with the stamped steel lids. You get one and you'll love it. For less than 100 bucks I wouldn't even bother giving yourself a headache by trying to mess with a jar and vacuum.
