300 out of a mid 60's truck now in a '59. Was running like a top but last outing she stalled while going on the highway. After warm up hit the road cruising 60 mph or so and then the motor just dies. Attempted to restart after pulling over / cranked but no start. Thought fuel delivery? But there was no stutter so that seems out. Then thought DSII module. But it was not hot. Anyway got back in the cab and it cranked right up. Finished my 40 minute trip north bound; then returned home. Stalled same place going back. This time about after 35 minutes of run time. But seriously same place. She started right back up. I though maybe some transmitted power source was screwing with the DS module. Next outing 3 days later, same situation different place after about 15 minutes of run time. 60mph on freeway. Started right back up.
On the way home she crapped out at nearly every stop, only to restart after a few moments of increasingly longer duration of rests. Finally stopped at the off ramp to my house less than a mile away. No start. Called AAA.
She is now in my driveway. Tested the DS module at autozone. It passed. Still think it could be the module. Anybody second that? Any other ideas? Thanks,
Jon
Distributor module will read 400-1000 ohms across orange and purple. Black to either one, more than 70K ohms. Coil will read .8-1.6 ohms aross + and -. Center post to either one, 7,700 to 10,500 ohms. I do have the complete procedure for testing the system I will post if needed.
