Okay put strg dampers on 1st.Went to highway crete section that truck would always shake/wobble,not real bad,but new it should be better,it made it a very lot better.then went back home and put all shocks on it. and went back to same section.drove same speed. truck was like a Lincoln. now this truck had always felt like it rode nervous, thats hard to explain on country roads.so off to them we went. Wow im a very happy person. Now off we went to a crete highway that expansion joints would finally get the best of my back before. now its fairly nice,so having 2 people we starting playing with shock adjustments.we found it really makes a difference on crappy roads. If had to do over i woulda got remote adjutable from inside cab But still very pleased
Slider,
I'm assuming you installed the Rancho stabilizer. What shocks did you go with?
Epic. Yes went with Rancho stabalizer. and went with the 9000 XL shocks. He felt as though i wouldn't have a problem with the length. but i decided i will put a 2" level kit on it. and then drive it again before i have the caster correction done.just so i can have solid proof on everything that gets changed.

Sweet. It is nice how the truck rides now isn't it? You're word "nervous" is right on. I'd also add jittery. I'm more and more happy with the change. Driving just today I thought how nice and firm/planted the truck is on the road. The extra firmness in the steering wheel is also very nice.
Its truley a pleasure to drive now. I truley learned alot today doing it in steps, and feeling the changes in each component. They all made there own improvement in road changes. but knowing before on every road ive traveled.was so important.during the changes. Im so excited im gonna go tommorrow and just drive and burn a tank full of fuel.

as my milage increases so does my dw. yesterday on i-10 south out of la, ca, i was on the hov lane doing about 70 mph when i hit a bump with both front tires. it wobbled so bad my wife got a little shook up. both my front tires wobbled. usually it is just one of the tires and i feel it in the steering and floor board. this time my whole front end wobbled so bad that the steering wheel was going crazy. i applied my brakes, i was on cc, and slowed it down and take the wobble out. can't wait to take it in to my dealership and get this taken care of. hope i can convince them to do something similar to epic's pick-up.
Epic. Spent my day driving. I-45 to tupelo fair road. rode great. US-78 to memphis tn. road is horrific,a kidney /back killer.made it thru there and enjoyed the ride. 78 to I 55 thru Memphis. concrete roads just plain suck.expansion joints a killer, and i call about 3 miles of it the bunny hump road. Total trip 370 miles Well i am absolutly totally pleased. My next test will be pulling toy hauler. down same roads and same speeds.
Just got all my parts installed but havent had a chance to take it for a good ride yet, just the little time I had on a bumpy road it seems much improved. Gonna test it out tomorrow.
Had a chance to take the truck down a very rough rutted road this morning going to fill the deer feeders and im impressed at how much better the truck handles and drives now,ALOT smoother than it was before. Nice upgrade!
I would have to say best upgrade ive done to truck. Now if i can find the my ride remote system for less than $269. I believe it will be the ultimate package for all road situations.
Those that have done this mod - did you have the FX4 Ranchos or the stock shocks?
If any of you get some experience with driving over long lengths of expansion joint covered highways I would be curious as to how the trucks do.
If any of you get to adjust the settings on the shocks (adjustable ranchos - 9000's - or otherwise) I would be curious what your thoughts are as to the performance at different settings.

Ah, more questions now since you played with the adjustments. You mention that the adjustments do make a difference in the road conditions. Can you elaborate? As in what did the setting that you liked for the expansion joints do for your "normal" roads, and the other way around? Is there any setting you would consider as a "happy medium" or does that exist?
My steering damper kit came yesterday. The PDF instructions say something about putting a notch on the drag link and sliding the bracket sideways. In illustration 1 it shows this bracket. But in the pictures it doesn't show the bracket at all. http://www.gorancho.com/assets/instr..._pdf/88058.pdf
Looking at the Video I guess we don't have that and don't have to turn anything just mount the brackets??
