Monkey...what was the vintage bike thing? I didn't hear about any type of show or anything in town, so I missed it. I can't ride right now because the cheap azz chain guard I had to buy for my R1 broke off the other day. When I bought my bike the moron didn't have the original chain guard mounted on the bike and didn't have it (I have no clue why). So, I bought a cheap one off ebay. Bad idea...the friggin' mounting tabs finally all broke off (3 of them) and now the guard actually moved and could have even jammed against the chain or while while I was riding. I was really ticked. Wrote the manufacturer and of course they can't do anything about it because it's past the 90 day time frame (I bought it only 1 year ago). Bunch of d*ckheads. GRRRR!
So, I found a very nice looking stock one on ebay from a salvage company and it should be here on Friday. So, hopefully next weekend I'll be able to ride the bike again.
Then again, I might not anyway because in a couple of weeks I'm actually going to have LASIK surgery done. I'm finally going under the knife...well, the laser actually. LOL I've been wanting to get it done for years and finally things came together and was able to get a lot of it paid for by insurance and such (before I lose it), so I figured I might as well get it done. So, I'm in my stupid azz glasses until my surgery date and I can't fit my glasses in my helmet comfortably. So, I might just wait to ride until I'm done with it all.
Hey Demon, I have recently heard that there have been significant advances in LASIK surgery.
There used to be problems with pressure changes like high altitude and submersion. Evidently they have improved on that.
Also, I have several friends and acquaintances who have been very happy with their vision improvements.
Ya, I'm getting the latest technology done (as far as I'm aware of). They actually do a 2.5-3 hour check of your eyes and they "map" it out so the laser knows exactly what to correct to make your vision perfect. Plus, I'm having iris recognition as well, which also won't let the laser turn on unless the mapping matches perfectly from the pre-exam map from the day before. Plus, my surgery is going to be all laser, which lessens the chances of getting the halos and flashes people would get in their night vision from before with lasik. From my understanding the reason that occurred before is because a metal blade was used at the time (and still used by most doctors today) and any imperfections in that blade was transferred to the eye(s) and thus when light would come in at night, it would hit those imperfections and then you would get the halos and/or flashes.
They have supposedly all but eliminated them now with using all laser and not using any blades at all in the type of surgery I'm getting done. Plus, the mapping generally gives you much crisper and better vision. I know I'm starting to sound like an "ad" for the place, but we'll see what it's like after I get mine done. I know how I see in a new pair of my contacts, so we'll see how I see after I get this procedure done. They state that 98% of their patients see 20/20 after the procedure and 70% see better than 20/20. I can handle that.
I appreciate the info though. Never hurts to get more info.
It started out that way, but I ended up working the gate & putting wristbands on people at the Reno Gay Pride Festival. LOL!
Some of those drag queens are pretty hot actually. I was jealous of a couple of them. They had better figures than I do! LOL!
How come most gay guys are handsome & always smell so good?
Hey Sunshine........weekend was alright. Got me some serious miles in on the bike, I got the diesel back from the shop with 1K$ worth of front end work done. She is driving like a dream yet again!

Hey Scott! Sounds like you had a good weekend. I just got my truck back a couple weeks ago too. It's nice to be able to drive it again. I bet yours drives alot better now.
Good morning everyone! Glad everyone made it thru the weekend. I bet the Gay Pride fest was actually interesting. I've volunteered some time on a few occasions at events like that and ended up having a great time. That's a fun group who defiantly enjoy life, and are very fun loving! I have to confess I'm a little jealous of Demon, I've worn glasses since fifteen, and would love to have my eyes fixed. I was so chicken for so long, but I think I'm ready. The bike night was actually kinda cool. It's billed as "Vintage" event, and there where several vintage and cafe type bikes of all descriptions, and loads of harleys. But it was cool. We'll ride next time for sure. The sport bikes needed more representation. Plus it's in the new (rehabbed) arts district, and that part is cool as well. Down where first Friday is held.
