wrench light on
i have a 08 F450 4x4 6.4L desiel and the wrench symbol comes on when i drive at hwy speeds, when i stop and turn key off wrench turns off until i drive on hwy again. truck has now drivability problems. the dealer replaced water in fuel sensor and installed new fuel filters. any suggestions on problem?

The wrench light means a code is set. Without knowing the code anything else would just be guessing. You need to find a way to get the codes read. The dealer is the best way. Some auto parts stores will read codes but some of them don't have the technology to read the newest Ford codes, or in some cases any enhanced Ford codes.

Yes, codes will help tremendously. You reference new fuel filters. I take it that you had the indicator on for water in fuel.
Any shifting issues? that comes to mind as a possibility.
but without codes it is a shot in the dark as to what is wrong from here

Do you have a warranty? Your user name indicates your truck is giving you lots of problems, care to provide a history? How many miles? If under warranty you're best off taking it to the dealer.

My 350 has been doing the same thing for some time now. I took it to Ford and did a diagnostic check, came back as a bad turbo.... I don't believe anyone likes to fork over that kind of money for a part, but I would have had no way of knowing otherwise without the check.
Takes just a few minutes to have the diagnostic done and as stated in another post, takes the guess work out and typically takes you right to the problem.
I hope that your turbo is okay...! My new one just arrived via UPS yesterday. When the sun goes down this evening, I know what I'll be doing....

hey, thanks 4 the replys. my 450 kingranch been in the shop quite often for egr coolers, egr valve, oil cooler, map sensor ,oil leaks, high pressure fuel pump, radiator leaks(3rd radiator)leaking now and the dealer can't find the leak , new computer and wire harness. seems like every tuesday truck has something wrong with it. been in shop so long ford gave me 100,000 ml power train warranty. truck currently has 100,759 ml

thanks for the replies. i haven't had time to take truck to a dealer yet since i just got it back last week, i live about an hour from dealer. truck has 100,759ml on it. it,s been in the shop for egr coolers, water pump housing, oil cooler, oil leaks, 3rd radiator now leaking, ecm and wire harness, high pressure fuel pump, still blows black smoke and exhaust tips are black- dealer say it's normal now. trucks been in shop for so long and so many times Ford gave me 100,000ml powertrain warranty. thank god for that.
