With no other symptoms to go by, you'll need to get the codes read to figure out what the issue is.
Then you've got to find someone with a good scanner. The inexpensive ones available at the parts stores won't read most of the codes in a diesel. You might try to swing by a parts store and have them do the free scan to see if you get lucky. I think the cheap scanners can pick up emissions codes like from the GPCM.
