CEL on but no codes?

Took my truck to AutoZone with the CEL on. They could not read any codes. They turned the light off and now I'm waiting to see if it comes on again. Is it possible to have no readable codes? If the code cleared itself but the light was on is the code lost or should I be taking this to another store? Is this normal or an AutoZone problem. Thanks for any feedback.

Any OBDII scaner should work on your Expy. I don't know why the CEL would be on without any codes.

Take it to a different AZ store.

Either their scanner was bad or the guy didn't use it right.
