Body Mount Saga

The garage I give all my money to tells me that the body mounts are becoming obsolete and they'd have to get them from Texas. There'd be extra freight charges which would bring the cost for just the front 2 mounts installed to $715. I thought these kits were $90/kit?
He said there are actually 6 down each side. (I thought there were only 3.)
He also said the back body mounts are really hard to get and will be more expensive.
This creaking is driving me nuts. I've got to get it taken care of.

It does not come in kit form, Upper mount/Lower mount, bolt/shim (4 Parts). they are about $90. for each setup. Ford has plenty in stock. Hope this helps i went through this for months. Its like driving a $400. truck.

I would start with the 2 Under your feet both drivers and passenger side, that might do it for you.

Good because now i feel like I am driving a 70 model. How long did it take you and did you just do one on each side under your feet

Joe, i had my local Ford Dealer do the Job. I had posted this a while back, keep in mind the Ford manual states you must loosen all the mounts before replacing one. I talked the tech into just lifting the cab a little were the specific mount was to be changed. (This took him 30 minutes per side).
Very straight forward job. Also, this was not my first time, make sure the parts department finds you the SHIM. The Shim was introduced years later, people claim that this was Ford's fix to a very common problem with our trucks. Without it i only got a couple of quiet months.

Yes, only did position 2... this is the first to fail due to its the position with the most amount of flex.

Hope this helps,

I was planning on doing just the first 2 sets under my feet first, but I thought it'd be around $400.
Who's the Ford parts 'guy' here? Does he have these parts?

...and I only need to replace 3 down each side, right? (Most of the creaking is under my feet, but I do hear it all over)
