If i had that much creaking noise and was on a budget, I would do position 2 both sides and then go to position 4 both sides. Just my 2 cents

What model years does the affect? Are we talking about 2WD and 4WD models? I'm trying to understand what type of creaking you guys are talking about, I have an 02 2WD Limited and I don't have this issue, yet anyway...

The creaking noise we were discussing usually starts with the body mounts under you feet while in driver or passenger seat. This location gets the most amount of flexing (turning into driveways etc.)

From my understanding it can happen to both 4x4 and 4x2 all years.

If you don't have this issue, great! Hopefully you won't need to deal with it.

I had alot of creaking type sounds and after the lift it went away. I think it may have been just from retightening the shocks mount bolts and sway bar links and mounts.. You may want to just make sure all that is nice and tight - only takes a few minutes on each side - might save you some $

Otherwise - let us know how you make out

Called Horizon (Ed) and they are calling me back with the TSB shim.
He gave me the part number for the bolt W705719S301. Is that the same for both sides?
I also got the number for the washer - W705721S301, but that was "superceded" by number W705721S438. That sound right?
I really want to get this taken care of and then move my way toward the back to take care of all the creaking.
Thanks again for all your help guys.

(I may need some of that New Jersey lemonade soon.)

Horizon called me back last night. He said they couldn't find any info on the shim via a TSB. Said it "must have been an east coast thing". Huh? Wouldn't a TSB be nation wide?

If anyone knows the part number for the shim, I'd appreciate it.

Has anyone considered a simple fix like taking some construction adhesive and put on both sides of the rubber pucs?

I've read a ton of home remedies, including someone stuffing a piece of a mouse pad... I'm sure that would probaby help but the shim is between $3. And $4 each.

UPDATE: Called local dealers (Tampa Bay area) and called Horizon Ford (Parts Guy Ed) with the part number (thanks Living Large) for the plastic shim. The guy at Horizon confirmed that it WAS a shim for the Excursion, but the part no longer exists. If anyone has access to this plastic shim, or knows anyone that can manufacture one, I, along with several other Excursion owners, would appreciate it.
I'll be getting the mounts and the bolts from Horizon, but I don't know if I'll put it all in until I get that shim, as it seems to be the magic fix which keeps the creaking away.
