DMF REBUILD!! SOURCE FOUND!!!!

Well by chance I found a company that has the ability to rebuild DMF to like new specs!! I bet if we send them some emails maybe they will just sell us the parts?
It would be nice to get a full rebuild kit for a DMF and save some money!

Personaly I wouldn't mess with rebuilding a DMF, just go with the one piece as they recommend.

I'm curious who is it that recommends the single mass.

The guys in the link, if you read half way down the page about 7.3diesel clutches they recomend retrofiting a standard flywhell and clutch.

Yes I know they do recommend the SMF but I prefer the DMF setup for various reasons and some others may as well.

Ya I am by no means saying SMF is the only way to go, some just don't want the extra gear noise and such.

Seems to be two trains of thought on the DMF vs SMF, but I think it comes down to a matter of preference. I drove one truck with both setups and preferred the SMF simply because I'm a small guy and can't deal with the heavier DMF clutch as easily. But if I had to lug around in a 5 speed truck with that gear rollover noise always there (like with my hypermiling drives), I'd probably loose it, and would eventually start to worry about damaging the gears. In that case the noise was gone over 1500 RPM but I sometimes cruise at 1200 with my E4OD.

Cost of overhauling (replacing) the DMF is often a reason for retrofitting the SMF kits, but if rebuilds can be done, why not? (Worth noting, is the replacement clutch for a SMF is often significantly more than a replacement clutch for a DMF if not replacing the flywheel) IDIdieseljohn was able to get half a million kilometers out of one DMF setup, so clearly they can last just fine.
