Haven't been here regularly for a long while but that's about to change as I get back into my project.
A job switch and move across country tends to occupy your priorities a bit...
The place we're in now has a small garage so it will be more of a challenge than it would have been had we stayed in Texas. Sure miss that old garage...
Good to see the old timers popping back up. Hopefully we can revive the pulse of all the non-darksiders out there (like me!).
Hi all-
Funny how quickly a few months slip by... I've been working a ton and haven't been on much since about April, I think. Finally got some projects out of the way, and have actually had some parts sandblasted.
I'm taking next week off to work on the '55... a couple of last things under the cab, then reassemble all front sheetmetal.
Point being I should be posting more again
Good to see some old friends still around... other than those I see on FB...
Hey all,
Sorry for my absence, but things have been insane for me over the last year or so, with little or no time for much of anything.
A quick overview of the past year would be, laid off for 4 months, new job, new house, NEW BABY GIRL!!!, and a job working 12-16 hours a day (3 hour drive from home).
To say my life is busy is an understatement and unfortunately the F-3 is still buried in the garage (but I do have the bug to get it out, just need workspace and time).
We just moved into a "new" old farmhouse (built 1900-1905) with acreage for our horse farm back in February and then in May we welcome our daughter Amelia into the world (proud first time dad).
I'll try to get back on here more often, kinda nice to know I was missed.
Take care and hopefully I won't be a stranger.
Jon
Oh, and my future grandfather (in law) is big into the old cars and trucks and says he has a lead on a late 48's COE and dumptruck if I had any interest... of course I said yes =)
Good to see you check in Jon. You're the go to guy when it comes to swapping rear axles, or at least I direct everyone doing and having questions to your gallery.
Congrats on the little girl, the fun is only starting.
Not that I was listed as MIA, but thought I would say that I am still around.
Still working in Las Vegas, in the construction industry, or what is left of it in Nevada. Still living in St. George, Utah that is, and have both of my truck, '53, and the '54.
Today I am going to finish adjusting the doghouse, and final preps before paint. Had truck running, recently, just trying to get through the paint stage on this one, so I can drive it.
Anyway, wanted to say that I have been more of a sponge than a spear, meaning I look at this side, and absorb all that I can and put it to good use. Have not made and life changing post here, meaning not really a spear.
Just like the rest of you life seems to keep ya busy. Bought my son a 90 ranger that the p.o had hit a deer with and destroyed the front clip went to the local pick and pull and got a new front clip taught him alot about doing body alignment and body work he drove it for about 2 months and had a tow truck pull a uturn in front of him so on to putting front clip number 2 insurance gave us 2300 for a 500 dollar truck bought a parts truck for the front clip and got a/c also and this time he did almost all the work with me helping when he got stuck guess he learned something we he got done he painted a deer and a tow truck ouline on the left front fender like a old fighters kill record lol
Great thread! I plan to be here more often. My job and just life in general has kept me from working on the truck. These posts are always an inspiration to get back at it! Hope you all are doing well
there are many younger guys who join who are single and have nothing else to focus on except their trucks. Then they get married, buy a house and have kids.
You mean to tell me that there are ladies who put up with men and their mecheanical fat fenders?
