Hey Folks, I know all of you get lots of posts on 6.0 issues but its my turn - hope someone can help...I don't post much so here goes....
We have an 04 6.0 with about 145,000
About a year ago, the EGR started to freak out and we just unplugged it and it has run fine since but lately before it gets warmed up - it will idle fine but when you get on the road it kind of misses/hesitates but usually after it gets fairly warm you can kind of run it out and it will start to clear up. but if you shift to early it will really run like a dog. then once its warm it runs great.
If you stop after driving any distance for even 25 minutes - when you get back on the road, it does the same thing for a few minutes...
any ideas??
I'm about to take it to a buddy of mine that has a shop but i'm kind of curious what i'm in for.
Mine was doing kind of the same thing. I pulled the FICM out and opened it up and found one of the small tan capacitors was burnt to nothing. Another vote for checking the FICM. That seems to be the culprit in the rough running problem with these engines. Good luck!
