If you click on the link and look at the rest of the pictures it looks to me like there is a lot hiding under the paint particularly the front fenders. The tailgate chains are a good indication that it hasn't run for a while. These pictures are all you get on this site. I just thought that it was a lot to pay for a truck with so many questionable parts.
The truck to me looked like a very good deal, I would never be lucky enough to find one in such good shape in my area. The paint is rough I agree and could be hiding some under lying problems but looking at the pics with the doors open there doesn't seem to be any rust and that would be a big problem area I think. Who ever got it should be pretty happy I think. Did you see what I started with.
The 1949 Cadillac, is completely covered with 38,295 pennies! They were affixed one by one using Silicone. They added over 200 pounds to the vehicle's weight.

Penny paint job - 1949 Cadillac
The actually looks pretty cool and beautiful chrome on it.
48's had the stainless grille bar trim. 48-50 Mercs had 4 stainless bars, instead of Ford's 5 steel ones.
These mirrors(pictured) are not very practical or safe or useful. I have them on my tool truck still and until I change these 4" beauties this truck will stay parked. I cant decide on what type of mirror I like. I perfer the simplicity of the ones like these that I already have but this single mirror support lends to vibration and an unclear image in the mirror. Increasing the mirror head size only would exacerbate that problem. I will "for now" have to put on larger rectangle shaped mirrors just to get going here. Keeping it parked isnt going to get the truck to DMV for the rest of the registration to be finished. I need to build or have someone build a drawer for the generator that will supply the power for the store. I need to mount the a/c compressor for the stores climate control and that will require a motor to drive it,,, Lots of projects still to do to get the business up and running,,,, Oh ya hows this for irony, I arrived home from driving this truck all the way home from Texas as you all know from my previous post. A day afterward the San Diego Police Detective working the theft of my previous tool truck calls me to tell me that the now owned by the insurance company stolen Freightliner MT45 has been recovered. I went to see it. Its a mess. Cabinets are missing most of the drawers. All the electronics like the battery chargers and inverters are gone and I mean the wires to them are cut. The body was painted with a roller and latex house paint to hide the logos. There is some body damage where it looks like it was high centered on the side skirts on the driver's side. Of course every tool was gone. They did leave my Bible in one of the drawers that still remained. I will wait for the auction and see if it makes financial sense to get it back. Maybe swap some of the store with the one I have now to make a better set up and then sell it...Or make a motorhome out of it or...Isnt that the way it is?... you move on and then the old one shows back up. Does anyone think I should take the 5.9 Cummins/1000 Allison/Big Differential/ from the 2006 Freightliner and put it into the COE? Ton of work if it would even fit...Low miles{70k} on the Freightliner HIGH hours(18,000 hours).
