...because every gm and chrysler vehicle I've had has been a pile.
87 oldsmobile cutlass ciera. Would overheat after 40 miles at night, 20 miles during the day. The 4cyl somehow also managed to get worse MPG than my excursion.
87 dodge daytona 2.2 turbo - caught on fire. Twice. and 0-15mph took about 20 seconds; 15-60 took about 2 seconds. Turbo lag + 3 speed auto = no bueno.
98 camaro v6 - bought new, up to 70k miles it had the following go bad: transmission @ 15k, exhaust fell off once, 4 (yes, four) alternators, one rear end, power windows would go down but not up, hatch somehow got misaligned, timing cover broke out of the blue - a pulley just decided it had enough basically. Intake gaskets once, cruise control and high beams died, etc...
93 jeep cherokee - every bolt i touched on it broke. I do have to thank it for my awesome collection of tools though, as I wouldn't have needed nearly as much stuff as I have now. Owning a jeep = spending more on tools than I did on the jeep... On the bright side, the 4.0 in that thing was bullet proof, ran perfect at 208k + miles...
Every Ford I had has had issues with sensors, switches and bushings, and that's about it. I've never been left stranded by one, none of em ever caught on fire. They may not have the biggest hp/torque numbers on a sales brochure, but they sure as hell get me where I need to. My mustang, which has seen a few hundred passes at the drag strip has been bullet proof. I sometimes think what would happen had the camaro seen a 6000 rpm launch on slicks at the track (it has never even been to the track). I can just invision a silver camaro blowing up at the start line before it even moves an inch...
Except Im liking the new Silverados over the f150s and f250s. But before 2010 you couldnt beat a fords looks. Except the 97-03 f150s, those were sad
Pretty much agree with everything you just said. I like the looks of the new silverados alot compared to the ridiculously oversized new super duty front ends. Ford still has the better truck though. And yes the 97-03 150s were ugly as sin
True... but that body style also lead to the Lightning, which was drop dead the sexiest street truck ever
Not true! there was a previous generation of lightenings for the previous model. Pre- 97. I am not sure when they ran, but between 91 and 96 there was a lightening.
This is an example:
An in my opinion it is much better than the post 97 ones.
I must be the odd man out, because I always thought the '97-'03 150's looked great dropped a bit, maybe the only Ford truck to EVER look good dropped since the '56 F100. I'm still having trouble even looking at any new Ford truck. Maybe they'll grow on me, but the new ones just ain't doing it for me as far as looks go.

I like my Ford because my first vehicle was a Ford. 91 ranger 3.0 v6 (most reliable vehicle iv ever owned). I now have a 99 super duty. I like this truck because my father helped build it (before he retired)! It is the baddest truck I have ever driven.
Cause chebby and dodge are street cars with big open trunks and fords can handle being offroad better than any other make / model with strong suspensions and engines. My dad had fords and my uncle had chebbys and growing up I watched them compare and dad always won.
Ihave always been a ford fan and always will be..........but my 88 dodge 1/2 ton 4x4 lasted 436000 kms stock 318......only exception
