I'm staring what I hope to be my last build thread! (keep changing my mind on what I want to build) I'm posting in the Mo chapter because don't fell welcome in the 4x4 forum.
My plan is to sell both of my trucks To fund my 79 bronco build to be named later! i plan not to dream to big on this one and keep it modest. The Bronco needs to be safe for the road, a tow rig for my used cars, a snow rig, and a fun off road toy!
79 ford Bronco no engine, T18 4 speed brought home for a fair price
Day one
I wish some people would not do body work it would have been a great lookin Bronco if they had left it alone!
Got the hood sealed and back on the bronco!
Found A deal on a used engine, when replacing the real seal found that it need new bearings! Pulled the crank sent it off to be polished, new bearings, timing chain, and oilpump! its all ready to go! Got it set in place! Still lots of stuff to hook up! Got some used headers today, but not sure if they will work yet?
Got more pics just have to wait to get them from my buddy!
Cool project Ches and good thinking on divesting yourself of the superfluous vehicles. I'll keep my good eye on this thread as well as the faded red Bronco thread of another member who helps everybody out with parts and even labor if he isn't working out of country.
The black headers are Flow tech headers for my Bronco. Got the white ones from Rich. I don't think the will work? Rich you can have these back the next time we meet up. Thank you for trying! I will buy the flow techs once I have money!
For a wheelin' only truck, I would go with the solid fan. If you plan on driving it on the street, you need the clutch fan and a shroud. It'll draw less power from the engine and keep things cooler also.
Your headers look like "car headers" and truck headers". The truck headers hang down farther. I use car headers all the time on 4x4 trucks. It's a little more work to fit the pipes, but everything stays tucked up inside the frame rails. With the new headers you got, you'll see them hang down if you look at the truck from the side. Not a big deal for a trail rig or mud truck, but it matters if you're building a rock crawler where every inch of clearance is needed.
